Sensing magnetic fields is of crucial importance for numerous applications, ranging from material science to biomedical imaging.
A group of scientists in Stuttgard, Germany are working on a way to detect magnetism faster than ever before, using a diamond and an atomic magnetometer. If the detection can be done quickly enough, we may be able to do MRI scans on single molecules!
